About
Bakhita Girls finds, follows and supports those tackling problems with girls’ secondary education and working toward solutions on the ground in their own communities. Our mission is to promote women’s empowerment through sustainable development of community-based educational institutions. We operate within an innovative and holistic framework to create self-sustaining solutions to gender-based social and sexual injustices.
Our team consists of a diverse group of young, passionate and devoted individuals joined together by an urge to do something and create positive change. We’re open to, and enthusiastic about, questions and suggestions.
Currently, our work is centered around providing exceptional secondary education to underprivileged girls in and around the town of Ifakara, in southern Tanzania. Read more about our goals, methods, and work.
